Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace, Inc. in Johnstown, PA is seeking a motivated Cable Assembler I to join our high‑performance production team supporting the build of world‑class Remote Weapons Stations. In this role, you’ll contribute directly to mission‑critical manufacturing by assembling cables that meet the rigorous standards of the defense industry. As part of a collaborative and quality‑driven environment, you’ll play an essential part in ensuring our systems are built with precision, reliability, and craftsmanship that our customers—and the warfighters who rely on them—can trust. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform Electro-Mechanical assembly operations using basic hand tools and test equipment following step by step work instructions.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems using wiring schematics, deficiencies and concerns in supplied and internally manufactured materials.
  • Document deficiencies in database.
  • Report progress and discrepancies to Cables Lead.
  • Support and participate in training and cross-training.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma/general education degree (GED) required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • One (1) year of experience assembling equipment in a production manufacturing environment.

OTHER POSITION CONSIDERATIONS:

J-STD-001 Certification (soldering) and IPC-620 Technician Certification preferred. Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team are necessary. Previous auto mechanic experience is a plus!
