1st Shift General Production Worker

Job Description

The General Production Worker performs manual and mechanical tasks to support the fabrication and assembly of foam and plastic containers. This role involves operating a variety of limited equipment and tools, following simple prints, drawings, and specifications, and ensuring products meet quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of simple fabrication and assembly operations for foam and plastic containers.
  • Pick parts and supplies from inventory according to instructions and production needs.
  • Assist in setting up and operating cutting equipment, drilling tools, saws, glue applicators, assembly tools, drill presses, and hand and power tools.
  • Cut stock materials to proper dimensions and tolerances as instructed.
  • Perform gluing, taping, flame treating, and labeling operations according to work instructions.
  • Carry out required masking and painting tasks to meet product specifications.
  • Review product specifications for simple jobs and ensure work aligns with drawings and requirements.
  • Conduct required tests, visual inspections, and dimension checks on finished and in-process products.
  • Detect out-of-specification conditions and promptly notify the appropriate lead or manager.
  • Follow safety precautions and quality standards throughout all production activities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient production and safety.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to perform basic fabrication and assembly operations using hand and power tools.
  • Experience operating cutting, drilling, saws, glue applicators, assembly tools, and drill presses.
  • Ability to read and understand simple prints, drawings, and product specifications.
  • Proficiency with basic math to measure, cut, and verify dimensions accurately.
