OVERVIEW
Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks a Temporary Production Assistant to join the Production team based in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The RTW Production Assistant supports Production Teams throughout the lifecycle of ready-to-wear collections. This role helps ensure accurate communication, timely sample tracking, production follow-up, data management, and cross-functional coordination with vendors, factories, design, technical design, merchandising, and logistics teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support RTW Production Manager with daily production activities across multiple product categories.
  • Tracks PPS samples, TOP samples, and bulk production status.
  • Maintain and update WIP (Work in Progress) reports, T&A calendars, and production trackers.
  • Assist with purchase order management, data entry, and system updates.
  • Communicate with factories and internal raw material teams regarding timelines, approvals, and shipment status.
  • Monitor sample and bulk deliveries to help ensure on-time execution.
  • Organize and manage sample inventory, shipment tracking, and approvals.
  • Assist in reviewing BOMs, tech packs, color standards, and production details for accuracy.
  • Coordinate fittings, proto reviews, and cross-functional meetings as needed.
  • Help track lab dips, fabric approvals, trims, and testing requirements.
  • Support logistics coordination for air/sea shipment planning and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and meeting recaps for management.
  • Assist with special projects and seasonal initiatives as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Production, Merchandising, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in apparel production, product development, or merchandising preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PLM systems preferred.
  • Understanding of garment construction and apparel production processes is a plus.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of RTW calendar management and production milestones.
  • Experience working with overseas factories and vendors.
  • Familiarity with fabric, trims, testing, and garment approvals.
  • Ability to analyze production issues and escalate risks proactively.
  • Strong follow-through and sense of urgency.
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced fashion production environment with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Hybrid or in-office work arrangement depending on company policy.
  • Occasional flexibility required during seasonal milestones and production deadlines.
SALARY & BENEFITS
The compensation for this position ranges from $28.85 - $31.25 (hourly). The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience. Marc Jacobs uses the published salary range as a guideline to provide our employees with market competitive pay while allowing for flexibility to recognize and reward all levels of expertise, performance, and tenure.
