Job Description

CNC Operator

As a CNC Operator at Aerospace, you will play a critical role in manufacturing high-precision aerospace components that support some of the world's most advanced aircraft and aerospace systems. 

You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machining equipment while ensuring compliance with strict quality, safety, and production standards. Success in this role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and monitor CNC 3-axis milling and turning machines to manufacture precision aerospace components.

Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.

Perform machining operations including milling, drilling, tapping, boring, reaming, and turning.

Inspect parts using standard and specialized measuring devices to verify conformance to specifications and quality requirements.

Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues and make necessary machine adjustments.

Perform routine preventative maintenance and basic machine care to maximize equipment performance and minimize downtime.

Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.

Follow all Aerospace safety, quality, and compliance requirements.

Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams on prototype, development, and production activities.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

Minimum 1 year of experience in a CNC or ASM machining environment, or completion of 1,800 hours of vocational machinist training with equivalent machine shop experience.

Experience setting up and operating CNC 3-axis milling and/or turning machines.

Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and manufacturing best practices.

Experience performing quality inspections using precision measuring instruments and gauges.

Ability to perform machining operations including milling, drilling, tapping, boring, reaming, and turning.

Understanding of machine shop safety practices, PPE requirements, and safe operating procedures.

Ability to lift and move materials as required and work around oils, coolants, and other manufacturing fluids.
