Job Description

BI Reporting Position This position is designed for a senior/lead BI report developer who has experience working independently with the business to create and support existing BI Analytic reports. Currently, there are existing complex analytic dashboards created using QlikView that this developer will support and enhance. Business customers have created reports and dashboards using a variety of tools including Qlikview, Tableau, SQL/PLSQL, TSQL, Excel, and Power BI. In addition to working with the business on new reports, the developer should be able to work with the business to bring these existing reports into IT. The ultimate Enterprise BI Reporting technology has not be determined. This position requires someone who after being assigned a task will work independently, coordinate with the business, and create the solution. Such tasks will require working with the data warehouse team, providing input into the data warehouse and BI reporting architectures. What you will do: The primary responsibility for the Data Analyst/Reporting Analyst is to work directly with key business stakeholders (often at the highest level), peers, and application developers in the creation and presentation of new assessment metrics, lifecycle analytics, key performance indicators and measures, interactive models, and data quality processes while maintaining and enhancing existing analytic and reporting offerings. Analysts are actively involved in: Requirement generation Solution design and creation (using a variety of tools Qlikview, Tableau, SQL/PLSQL, TSQL, Excel, PowerPivot, SalesForce Analytics, etc.) Unit testing/Quality Assurance testing Implementation, monitoring, and enhancement of solutions Support and facilitation of presentations to a wide audience of internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge and Skill Sets: Strong analytical and problem solving skills Ability to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets Familiarity with basic statistical methodologies to analyze data, forecast trends, and create analytical models Knowledge of lifecycle reporting and analytics, "what if" scenario analytics, survey methodologies and analyses, as well as root cause and data mining techniques Experience with common analytic toolsets (R, Excel, Oracle Analytic Functions, etc.) Established track record in creating compelling and readily understandable data visualizations, presentations, and reports Ability to communicate findings, methodologies, and complex concepts (both verbally and written) to a wide audience of stakeholders Demonstrated experience with Business Intelligence toolsets (such as Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Cognos, etc.) as well as dashboard offerings (Tableau, QlikView, etc.) Familiarity with data warehouses (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.) with an understanding of Kimball and Inmon approaches to data warehousing Proficiency in SQL/PLSQL or TSQL query generation as well as SQL optimization Ability to collaborate and actively engage in the determination of requirements, solution design, and development efforts Flexible and capable of prioritizing competing tasks, timelines, and work streams Self-motivated, detail oriented, responsible, and dependable with the ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision Knowledgeable of SDLC development principles and source control usage principles. Ability to provide accurate work estimates, proactively communicate if deviations are foreseen and to meet project plans based on provided estimates Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Information Management/Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or related analytics discipline (e.g. social and behavioral sciences, biology, psychology etc.) 5+ years professional experience in the analysis and presentation of data utilizing large data stores 5+ years' experience with writing SQL statements sourcing large and complex data bases and data marts 5+ years' experience with business intelligence and analytic toolsets Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Tableau, QlikView, Power Pivot Exposure to SalesForce.com reporting and analytic offerings Knowledge of cloud analytics Background in insurance and/or Vehicle Warranty
