Job Summary
The research group led by Dr. You Leo Li at The University of Texas at Dallas is excited to invite applications for postdoctoral scholar positions. We're at the forefront of medical ultrasound imaging and artificial intelligence and look forward to welcoming ambitious new members to our team.
The research program of the group lies in the intersection of AI and medical ultrasound imaging. The paradigm shift towards the integration of AI and domain knowledge in ultrasound physics in medical ultrasound imaging is a recent yet promising development. Dr. Li's research program aims to harness this potential, focusing on AI- based quantitative imaging of human hemodynamics, as well as neural network models of nonlinear ultrasound for imaging and quantitative tissue property estimation. The outcome of these research projects could significantly enhance healthcare.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art ultrasound scanners, pioneer new imaging technologies, and collaborate with an array of imaging scientists at UT Dallas. Furthermore, our close partnership with the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center allows for opportunities to engage in human studies. Minimum Education and Experience
Ph.D in a related field.
Preferred Education and Experience
Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering (or a related field). Experience in ultrasound or optical imaging and AI research is preferred.
Other Qualifications
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop novel algorithms for ultrasound simulation, imaging, and quantitative analysis
  • Customize machine learning / deep learning methods for image reconstruction
  • Conduct human studies of the algorithms and techniques in collaboration with other members of the group and clinical researchers at UTSW

This is a grant-funded position, renewable pending funding availability and satisfactory performance.
A remote work schedule is not available for this position.
