K&S Staffing Solutions is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Pilot Car Driver to escort company delivery trucks transporting oversized loads to job sites throughout Northern California. The Pilot Car Driver plays a critical role in ensuring safe transportation by assisting drivers with route navigation, monitoring traffic conditions, and maintaining compliance with Caltrans regulations.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy driving, working independently, and traveling throughout the region while maintaining a strong focus on safety and communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Escort oversized load vehicles to designated job sites throughout Northern California.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of escort vehicles, including tires, lights, fluid levels, and safety equipment.
  • Maintain continuous communication with company drivers using two-way radio systems.
  • Follow all state, county, and local traffic laws and regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to approved travel routes and permit requirements.
  • Monitor road and traffic conditions and communicate potential hazards to the delivery driver.
  • Identify safe pull-over and staging locations when necessary.
  • Complete required daily reports and trip documentation accurately and on time.
