Job Title: Certified PICC Line Registered Nurse (RN)

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified PICC Line Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing PICC line insertions, ensuring proper placement, and providing exceptional patient care throughout the process. As a vital member of our medical team, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality care and positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform PICC line insertions utilizing ultrasound guidance and sterile technique.
  • Assess patient suitability for PICC line placement and obtain informed consent.
  • Select appropriate PICC line size and type based on patient needs and clinical indication.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on PICC line care, maintenance, and potential complications.
  • Monitor and evaluate PICC line function, assessing for signs of infection, occlusion, or other complications.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Document PICC line insertion procedures, patient assessments, and interventions accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with PICC lines, including medication administration, blood draws, and dressing changes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education to maintain proficiency in PICC line insertion techniques and evidence-based practices.
  • Adhere to all regulatory standards, infection control protocols, and organizational policies to ensure patient safety and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Certification in PICC line insertion (CRNI or equivalent) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in vascular access or critical care.
  • Proficiency in ultrasound-guided vascular access techniques.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Commitment to excellence in patient care and continuous professional development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
