Key responsibilities

  • Install tooling, set up CNC machines, and load the machines according to set-up sheets.

  • Adjust CNC machines during operation to ensure parts are within tolerance and meet quality standards.

  • Perform routine maintenance on machines, tumble parts to eliminate burrs and chips, and ensure proper functioning.


Job description

CNC Machinist and Machine Operators
Pay Range: $20-26/hour
Machinist Opening: 2nd and 3rd shift
Operator Openings: 1st and 2nd shift
CNC Machinist Details

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install the tooling for the set-up of the CNC machines 
  • Put the tooling in the proper place per the set-up sheets
  • Adjust the CNC machine to make good pieces
  • Have QC check the parts to ensure the set-up is making good pieces
  • Adjust the machine as required to keep the parts in tolerance
  • Change tooling as needed
  • Load the machine
  • Maintain the machine in good working order--typical maintenance includes replacement of pumps, motors and hydraulic hoses.
  • Tumble parts for eliminating burrs and chips
  • Lift up to 50lbs 1 to 2 times per week depending on the set-up and the number of set-ups
  • Routine moving/lifting of 35lb bars and buckets of parts daily
  • Standing for at least 6 hours a day

Training Requirements

  • Computer literacy as there is extensive use of proprietary software on the job
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints realted to products being received
  • Must be able to use and understand standard measuring devices and equipment.  This includes calipers, micrometers, pitch micrometers, hardness testers, thread gauges, and various specialized hand gauges, and camparators.
  • Must pass all related ISO training within the first month on the job. 

CNC Operator Details
 

  • Install the tooling for the set-up and make sure the tooling is put in the proper place per the set-up sheets
  • Adjust the machine as needed to make good pieces
  • Have QC check the pieces to ensure the set-up is making good pieces
  • Check the pieces to quality standards and then dump a 4lb basket
  • Adjust the machine as needed to keep the parts in tolerance.  
  • Change tooling as needed
  • Computer checks as required on the QC procedure documents
  • Load and unload the machines
  • Tumble parts for burrs and eliminating chips
  • Place the parts on a skid and take the parts to QC when the skid is full
  • Repetitive lifting
  • Must stand for long periods of time

Experience Required

  • Must have experience with using drill and taps
  • Computer literacy
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints
  • Must be able to use and understand precision measuring devices that include calipers, micrometers, pitch micrometers, hardness testers, thread gauges, and various specialized hand gauges. 
  • Must be able to read and understand written job orders
  • Must have high school diploma or GED
