Job: Material Handler I
Duration: 6 Months
Shift: Night Shift Role- 3rd Shift: Sunday - Friday 10:45pm to 7:00am
Location: Edison, NJ
Job Description:
Core/essential skill sets:
  1. Handling pallet jack, not waiting to be told. Should be very pro-active.
  2. High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  3. Proficient in navigating HMI screens for various packaging equipment, including Tablet/Capsule Filler, Cottoner, Capper, Desiccant Inserter, Checkweigher, Labeler, Case Former, and Pallet Jack.
The respirator that the temp employees need to wear are noted below.
  1. Half Face reusable respirator - 3M 6100 (small), 3M 6200 (medium) and 3M 6300 (Large)
  2. N95 Disposable respirators - 3M 8511 and Molodex2300N95 series.

Position Summary
The Packaging Operator is responsible for operating packaging line equipment, handling materials, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to SOPs, and effective communication to maintain smooth and efficient packaging operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
โ€ข Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with PPE, safety, and EHS standards.
โ€ข Execute packaging operations according to approved documentation and SOPs.
โ€ข Respond promptly to alarms and troubleshoot issues during packaging processes.
โ€ข Perform equipment cleaning, change parts, and line clearance activities.
โ€ข Complete required documentation, including room and equipment logbooks, batch records, and verification checks.
โ€ข Stage and transfer packaging materials and bulk products as needed.
โ€ข Verify packaging components and bulk product against batch records and protocols.
โ€ข Stack finished goods cases on pallets, shrink-wrap pallets, and transfer to warehouse.
โ€ข Operate palletizer and pallet jack safely and efficiently.
โ€ข Remove unused or discarded materials to designated warehouse or recycling areas.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with company policies, cGMP, DEA, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
โ€ข Communicate effectively with team members to resolve issues and maintain workflow.
โ€ข Demonstrate urgency for quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
โ€ข Train and mentor other Material Handlers and Packaging Operators as required.
โ€ข Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

โ€ข High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Experience Required:
โ€ข 1-2 years' experience in FDA regulated packaging environment desired.
Specialized or Technical Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications required:
โ€ข Proficient in navigating HMI screens for various packaging equipment, including Tablet/Capsule Filler, Cottoner, Capper, Desiccant Inserter, Checkweigher, Labeler, Case Former, and Pallet Jack.
โ€ข Ability to assist Packaging Technicians during line changeovers.
โ€ข Capable of working extended hours and maintaining focus under challenging conditions.
โ€ข Competent in performing basic math functions related to packaging order start-up and completion.
โ€ข Knowledge of aggregation processes on packaging lines.
โ€ข Skilled in responding to equipment alarms, faults, and error messages, with the ability to assess potential product impact.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to work safely and comply with EHS and PPE requirements.
Physical Demand Requirement
