Job description

Systems, LLC, an affiliate of Chamberlain Group, is a U.S.-based manufacturer of loading dock equipment-marketed under the Poweramp, DLM, and McGuire brands. With manufacturing facilities in Germantown, Wisconsin and Malvern, Arkansas, all products are designed and produced in the USA using lean manufacturing techniques. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Participate in Problems Solving for systemic improvement activities and root cause analysis for Critical Quality issues, productivity issues, and supporting manufacturing processes
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools and principles to different areas or plantwide projects to improve manufacturing, material flow and process overall performance
  • Support and track Quality System Tools and procedures and engages activities to improve Operational KPIs and/or solve quality related problems; maintain work instructions and Manufacturing System documentation
  • Assist problem solving activities related to major downtime, quality or safety issues by: analyzing BOMs, interpreting drawings, engineering specifications and can conduct ERP transactions to support production in engineering related problems.
  • Calculate monthly staffing according to demand and process capacity for the area of responsibility
  • Implement productivity projects related to labor, overhead and material through engineering tools, process automation opportunities, relay outs, capacity increases, engineering changes, etc.
  • Audit Operational Safety Risks, Job Safety Analysis and Safety Practices for the manufacturing processes and resolves major risk points to reduce operational risk; apply Ergonomic principles to process and validates layout and workstations to comply with ergonomic standards
  • Manage and lead projects from start to finish understanding constraints and develops schedules to meet target implementation dates for projects assigned
  • Develop Capacity Scenarios and Business cases for Capital investment; create and manage CPRs to achieved committed goal and budget
  • Coordinate and implement activities or NPD projects with minimal supervision of a senior engineer or supervisor (Engineer & Pilot runs, Pre-production preparation, etc.)
  • Validate critical new or modified equipment in manufacturing process with control runs or other tools
  • Create temporary process deviations documentation (PCOs) for process and material changes when required and implements ECN activities regarding manufacturing processes
  • Design, quote, purchase and implement fixtures, tools, workstation improvements, equipment, and processes, etc. to support NPD, Productivity, new processes and continuous improvement
  • Audit and maintain Industrial engineering process information like Time Study, Standard Work, Capacity, Line Balancing; create, update and audit process layout when changes are being implemented
  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
  • Protect Chamberlain Group's and Systems' reputation by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of Project management, Lean manufacturing, line Balancing and time study calculations, labor cost calculation, Material flow and workstation design.
  • Project implementation experience, proficient with problem solving techniques.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), PMAPs, VA/VE and productivity generation tools,
  • Change management (CNs), BOM structure, PPAP process, Core APQP Tools, Digital Factory. Experience in new product implementation, Mistake-proofing techniques

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, office, Minitab, AutoCAD, Proficient in Solidworks, ERP
The pay range for this position is $60,400.00 - $97,525.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
