R&D Cybersecurity Engineer

Security Clearance Requirement: DoD Secret

Security Investigation Requirement: At the time of proposal, candidates must possess at least a Tier 3/NACLC/ANACI investigation (position is Moderate Risk, non-Critical Sensitive, IT-I).

Position Summary

The R&D Cybersecurity Engineer will provide Information Assurance Engineering Support for the Information Technology R&D program, which executes programs and projects for participating in programs. Provides analysis of emerging R&D Information Systems, R&D Operational Technology, and R&D IT Infrastructure to assess compliance with policies, orders, tasks, and/or regulations, reducing time, effort, and total acquisition cost for R&D projects migrating to production systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Must perform a variety of routine project tasks applied to specialized Cybersecurity problems.
  • Tasks involve integration of electronic processes or methodologies to resolve total system problems, or technology problems as they relate to cybersecurity requirements.
  • Analyzes information security requirements.
  • Analytical and systematic approaches applied in the resolution of problems of workflow, organization, and planning.
  • Provides security engineering support for planning, design, development, testing, demonstration, and integration of information systems.
  • Reviews both existing and draft/proposed policy and changes against system design documentation and identifies any areas of non-compliance.
  • Develops and documents standards and guides for the implementation of IA/Cybersecurity solutions, including but not limited to compliance, system security design and IA/Cybersecurity assessments.
  • Identifies risk assessments, determining the probability of occurrence, the resulting impact, and additional safeguards that would mitigate the exposure and impact of the identified risk(s) for R&D projects.
Required Qualifications
  • Must have ten (10) years of relevant IT experience.
  • Operational Technology: Five (5) Years of relevant experience.
  • Computing Environment (CE):
    • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate or Expert,
    • Cisco Certified Network Administrator,
    • Microsoft Azure Security Technologies,
    • Amazon Certified Security,
