 Laborer

SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to Superintendent/Supervisor, perform construction duties for residential and commercial projects in a timely manner within company guidelines.

MINIMUM DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.
  • Must be able to successfully communicate in English.
  • Must have reliable transportation including:
    • Maintain a favorable DMV report.
    • Non-expired/current California state driver’s license.
    • Proof of valid auto insurance in your name.
    • Able to get to/from jobsites with tools on time.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Must be able to follow instructions and effectively communicate problems, issues or any potential hazard to material, persons or a homeowner’s possessions before it occurs. 
  • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
  • Consistently, without fail, follow safety rules and policies.
  • Inform direct supervisor of any needs prior to the next work day to achieve maximum work efficiency.  
  • Have your own reliable transportation.
  • Maintain a favorable DMV report. 
  • Current California state driver’s license. 
  • Proof of valid auto insurance in your own name for your own vehicle. 
  • Able to get to and from varying job sites with tools on time.
  • Must be able to successfully communicate in English language.
  • Move material and equipment from truck to jobsite, and within jobsite. 
  • Must be willing to do tasks as assigned regardless if they are outside the typical work tasks to help the job continue to completion.
  • Always maintain a professional and courteous work environment.
  • Maintain good working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and clients.
  • Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities.    
  • Control traffic passing near, in and around work zones.  
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials. 
  • Dig ditches, trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes.
  • Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed. 
  • Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications. 
  • Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures with Supervision.
  • Always maintain discretion and professionalism while in or on a homeowner’s property.



Working hours: Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm
Hours: 8 hours per day excluding breaks
