ABOUT THE ROLEThe Material Handler can perform a variety of material handling functions, including but not limited to operating a forklift, scissor lift, Jib crane, bridge crane, and other material handling devices YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES• Operate various sizes and types of forklifts• Operate a bridge crane and jib crane• Clearly communicate and interact professionally with truck drivers and other delivery personnel• Daily inspections of equipment, including appropriate daily documentation• Must be able to appropriately rig a load for lifting• Must be able to inspect rigging• Determine which process should be used for moving raw materials or finished product in any given situation• Other duties as assigned/directed by supervisor WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR• High school diploma or equivalent preferred• 6 months to 1 year experience as a material handler in a manufacturing environment• Forklift, crane, and other lifting devices certifications• Detail oriented• Self-motivated• Must be able to work in a team environment• Ability to frequent, reach, lift, sit, stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, squat, bend, and balance,• Excellent hand-eye coordination• Excellent spatial orientation• Work safely and look out for the safety of the team• Keep a clean and hazard free workspace• Identify any defective items and handle them accordingly• Follow JSA, work instructions, and use identified PPE• Use reason to solve problems• Ability to lift up to 50lbs• Takes pride in work product and ensure quality work is completed daily• Performs other related duties as assigned
