Job description

Carolina NeuroSurgery & Spine Associates (CNSA) has a rare opportunity for a full-time neurosurgeon to join a distinguished and high-performing neurosurgical private practice serving the beautiful community of Greensboro, North Carolina.

The role delivers advanced clinical care to neurosurgical patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include comprehensive evaluations, diagnostic interpretation, treatment planning, and participation in surgical and procedural care.

Ideal candidates will not only be skilled neurosurgeons familiar with a wide range of procedures, but also have exceptional communication skills, be highly compassionate and eager to join a cohesive and top-tier practice environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in neurosurgical care across a broad range of conditions, including cranial, spinal, vascular, peripheral nerve, and functional neurological disorders
  • Evaluate all new patients, conducting focused neurosurgical histories and physical exams
  • Formulate treatment plans, order appropriate imaging and perform inâ€'office procedures
  • Manage postoperative and routine followâ€'up visits
  • Review and act on radiographic and laboratory reports and manage prescription refills
  • Assist with or perform procedures such as craniotomies, spinal instrumentation, microscopic procedures, lumbar punctures, ventriculostomies, myelograms, and placement of traction or fixation devices
  • Conduct daily rounds, including ICU patients; write orders, progress notes, and admission histories and physicals
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and imaging studies (e.g., MRI, CT, bone scans, myelograms)
  • Assess clinical status, implement therapeutic plans for hospitalized patients, coordinate discharge planning and dictate discharge summaries

Education & Requirements:

  • Graduated from an accredited medical school and obtaining licensure as an M.D.
  • Completion of an accredited general surgery residency medical program with certification
  • Completion of an accredited neurosurgical residency training program with certification
  • Board-certified/board-eligible through the American Board of Neurological Surgery
  • Completion of a neurosurgical residency training program or neurosurgical fellowship with certification
