Responsibilities

Our Clinical Nurses (RN) in Labor & Delivery independently perform clinical care in a family centered environment.  Working with a dedicated team, the RN provides evidence-based, high quality care to mothers and newborns, with couplet care, and newborn nursery  care supported.  The RN serves as a resource for other team members. Our 30 bed, all private room unit is a part of the Family Childbirth and Children’s Center at Mercy.


Requirements
  • Diploma/degree from an accredited nursing school (a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, or agreement to enroll within six months of employment)
  • Registered Nurse license to practice in Maryland or the ability to obtain a Maryland license based on timeframe of licensing board
  • 1-2+ years of clinical nursing experience is strongly preferred; new graduates with focused practicum or technician experience in L&D will be considered.
  • Healthcare Provider-Level CPR certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP)
  • EfM  (external fetal monitoring)certification within 18 months of hire

Salary Information
Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
