Retail Associate
Organization: Vapor Ministries - Vapor Thrift Store (VTS)
Reports To: Retail Assistant Store Manager
Hours: 8-40 hours per week, depending on need and availability
Travel: Minimal. Local travel is limited to a monthly staff meeting held within 20 minutes of the store.

Responsibilities
Customer Service
  • Greet every customer and treat each one with respect, optimism, and joy.
  • Answer questions and assist with customer needs throughout the store.
  • Escalate more complex customer service issues to an Assistant Store Manager or the Store Manager.
  • Share the vision and mission of Vapor Ministries with customers.

Cashier Duties
  • Move customers through checkout efficiently and courteously.
  • Operate the VTS point-of-sale system.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions accurately and securely.

Opening & Closing
  • Complete all opening and closing checklist procedures when scheduled for those shifts.

Housekeeping
  • Keep the workspace and retail floor clean and well organized.
  • Perform cleaning tasks at open, at close, and throughout the shift to maintain an exceptional customer experience.

Merchandising & Stocking
  • Stock shelves and racks whenever not assisting customers.
  • Organize and display merchandise to create an appealing, easy-to-shop space.
