Job description

Why This Role Is Special:

As a SafeCare Parent Support Person (PSP), you will deliver the SafeCare program to families in Arapahoe County through a structured, evidence-based model that strengthens parenting skills and supports child and family well-being. This role combines meaningful one-on-one work with families, coaching and fidelity-based training, and community partnership building to ensure families can access services that make a real difference.


What You will Do:

  • Deliver SafeCare home-visiting sessions - Use observational assessment, modeling, role-playing, and strengths-based feedback to support parents and caregivers.
  • Engage and retain families - Build trust and maintain strong engagement in a voluntary program to support consistent participation.
  • Complete training and maintain fidelity - Attend SafeCare Colorado Home Visitor Training, meet certification requirements, and participate in ongoing coaching and supervision.
  • Manage caseload and documentation - Maintain a caseload of approximately 12 to 18 families (full-time) and upload required audio recordings, documents, and program data daily.
  • Build referral relationships and conduct outreach - Connect with community agencies, give presentations, attend events, distribute materials provided by ACECC and the Office of Early Childhood (OEC), and track outreach efforts to strengthen referrals.

What You Need to Be Successful:

Education:

  • Associate degree (AA) in Early Childhood Education or a related field is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience in home visitation and/or direct services to families with young children is required (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered).
  • Experience with young children and knowledge of early childhood development is preferred.

Specialized Skills:

  • Candidates should be comfortable providing services in home and community-based settings, including environments that may be cluttered, unsanitary, poorly lit, or without air conditioning. The role requires strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; solid computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; and the ability to learn program-specific systems.
  • Successful candidates will be organized, dependable, and able to manage schedules, prioritize tasks, and travel to in-home visits and off-site meetings. The position requires openness to supervision, feedback, and coaching, with the ability to follow program protocols consistently. Some evening and weekend availability may be required. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.

Competitive Pay: $54,000-$56,650 salary, depending on experience.
