Job description

Missions

The EPTB Charente, an Establishment Public Territorial of Basin Charente, created in 1977, transformed into an open mixed syndicate in 2017. It includes the Departmental Councils of Charente, Charente-Maritime, Deux-Sèvres, Vienne, and Dordogne, the Region Nouvelle-Aquitaine, 20 establishments publics of cooperation intercommunale, and 12 mixed syndicates of watershed basin. In a context of climate change, the EPTB Charente commits all its energy to preserve the water resource on the scale of the basin of the Charente (10,000 km²), from the sources to the estuary. It relies on a dynamic team of about twenty engineers and technicians specialized in various themes (cartography, hydrogeology, agronomy, ecology, environmental education, etc.), supported by an administrative and financial pole. Its missions are mainly organized around the prevention of floods and the management of water on the scale of the basin of the Charente. • Flood prevention: The EPTB Charente pilots several Programs of Actions of Flood Prevention (PAPI) and animates Local Strategies of Management of Flood Risk (SLGRI) on the basin of the Charente and the Charentais-Maritime coast. These initiatives aim to reduce the vulnerability of territories to floods and marine submersions. • Water resource management: The EPTB Charente animates several initiatives related to the quantitative management of water and the sharing of the resource, as well as a prospective reflection on the adaptation of the territory to climate change. • Water quality and aquatic environments: The EPTB Charente conducts actions to preserve the quality of water, aquatic environments, and biodiversity. • SAGE Charente: The EPTB Charente ensures the animation and follow-up of the Scheme of Development and Management of Waters (SAGE) Charente.

Profile Sought

- Higher education (from Bac +3 to Bac+5) in the field of GIS, geomatics, or geography, with a strong appetite for digital tools; - Mastery of the Qgis software; - Knowledge of programming languages R appreciated; - Notions on programming languages python, html, and SQL; - Mastery of office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.); - Management and feeding of databases (server EPTB, BD Postgre SQL via PG Admin); - Resource person within the team and with the partners of the EPTB; - Organization: autonomy, rigor, versatility; - Curiosity, sense of listening, reformulation, and pedagogy; - Relational qualities, management transversal of group and conduct of meeting; - B permit required; - Experience desired.

Additional Information
