Job description

Educational Technician (Ed Tech I, II, or III)

RSU 40 Midcoast Maine

RSU 40 is seeking flexible, student-centered Educational Technicians to support students across our special education programs. These positions work as part of a collaborative team to provide academic, behavioral, and functional support to students with diverse needs.

This is a program-based role, meaning staff may support students across classrooms, programs, and schools based on student needs.


What You'll Do

  • Support students in academic, behavioral, and functional skill development
  • Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and behavior plans
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support in a variety of settings
  • Assist with classroom routines, materials, and organization
  • Support students during transitions, lunch, recess, and community-based activities
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with students
  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and program teams
  • Help create safe, structured, and inclusive learning environments

What We're Looking For

  • Maine Ed Tech I, II, or III certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience working with children (preferred)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to support across programs
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and responsive in dynamic situations
  • Commitment to student growth, inclusion, and dignity
