Reports To: Executive Kitchen Steward
Summary
Oversees and performs the duties of the Kitchen Stewards.
This job is a Safety Sensitive Position that will be subject to Drug & Alcohol Testing.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises the Kitchen Stewards in the Kitchen. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

A Supervisor level leader is expected to actively support ECMs in their professional and academic goals through:

* Opportunity Identification: Proactively inform ECMs about internal and external training, workshops, and educational programs aligned with their development needs.
* Facilitation of Growth: Encourage participation in stretch assignments, cross-training, and job shadowing to build new skills and broaden experience.
* Feedback and Recognition: Provide constructive feedback and recognize efforts toward self-improvement and career advancement.
* Resource Connection: Connect ECMs to relevant mentors, subject matter experts, and specific Pathways to Success programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Directs the day-to-day operation of ware washing and cleaning of food preparation areas.
* Makes required inspections of all kitchen areas.
* Able to do all ware washing and maintains a clean and organized dish drop zone.
* Washes all pots, pans and related items and maintains a clean organized pot sink area.
* Able to puts away all washed and dried items in their respective locations.
* Maintains proper chemical levels and stocks back-up chemicals when necessary.
* Uses kitchen equipment, as instructed, to ensure safety and proper care of equipment.
* Removes trash as necessary to outdoor dumpsters and maintain cleanliness of all trash receptacles to include all grease bins.
* Breaks down cardboard boxes and removes to designated area.
* Sweeps and mops the floors.
* Deep cleans kitchen and respective areas as instructed.
* Cleans and organizes all shelves, walk-ins, storeroom and back dock area.
* Assists the Executive Kitchen Steward in maintaining schedules, attendance records, Kronos and payroll issues.
* Supervises temporary cleaning crews when necessary.
* Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); at least 2 years related work experience and 1 year in a large multi-unit/high volume food establishment; 1 year supervisory experience required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must possess a valid Maricopa County Food Handler's Card.
Computer Skills
Basic PC skills required.
Other Qualifications
Must have a working knowledge of the stewarding operation or related janitorial experience. Must enjoy direct line supervision and be flexible and patient with employees. Must be a team player, have a positive attitude and present a well-groomed appearance.
Language Skills
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
