Temporary Liquor Sampling Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Job Duties

• Deli Clerk - Respond to customer queries, make product recommendations, and provide samples to customers as requested. Help customers locate, choose, and buy products. Slice, weigh, label, package and make products to sell. Stock and organize displays and showcases. Clean work areas and maintain tools and equipment. Coordinate with other staff in following food safety and hygiene procedures accordingly to company policies. Ensure prompt service and a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Catering, Hot Food Operations and Bakery - Adhering to regulations for food handling and food safety. Arranging transportation of all food items. Follow established recipes to cook, organize, plate or package menu items for catering, hot food and other market operations. Set up, tear down and maintain all hot food, baking and catering areas according to policy and procedures. Maintain and monitor hot food, slicers and other culinary equipment. Leverage teamwork to fully utilize kitchen staff to generate quality food and service to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Safety - Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines. Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notify store management. Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate management of any items in need of repair. Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Miscellaneous - Report all issues to management.  Look for ways to improve processes and procedures.  Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store. Perform other duties as assigned.
   

Minimum Qualifications

• Less than 2 years related experience 
• Less than High school diploma
• Must be 18 years of age 
• Available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays. 
• May require employee to drive a company vehicle; job is non-DOT regulated and an MVR is required
• Per 8-hour shift. Stand 8 hours. Sit 0 hours. Regular interaction with others and performs a degree of independent work. Infrequently lift up to 50 pounds. Frequently bend/stoop/twist (greater than 90°), reach below knee level, squat/kneel/crawl, and climb stairs. Typical market environment (Low to moderate noise level, low exposure to hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, grease, wet floors, and vibrations.)
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail or grocery industry.
• Cooking/catering skills and experience preferred. Deli clerk experience or in a related position preferred. Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition and subtraction).
• Attention to detail to fulfill orders correctly and spot issues related to sanitation and safety.
• Ability to use food prep tools and equipment such as knives, panini press, bread slicer, etc.
• Customer service skills to interact positively with customers and address potential concerns. Multitasking skills to assist multiple customers simultaneously during busy periods.
• Leadership and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of safe food handling procedures.
• Organizational skills and efficiency
• Operating knowledge of weighing scales, cheese, and meat slicers.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions and regulations regarding food safety and sanitation.
