Join The Nonwovens Institute team at NC State University! For over 30 years, The Nonwovens Institute (NWI) has supported the growth of the nonwovens industry through knowledge creation, knowledge transfer, education and service engagement.  

The TEMP Process Technician position is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic industry and participate with a team in the operation of lab and pilot nonwovens equipment, in development and manufacturing.

Prior experience in nonwovens production is NOT required.  Candidates can learn this position with full support while on the job.
  A willingness to work and learn is important.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Safely operate lab and pilot equipment & vehicles with training.
  • Work as part of lab and production team (typically about 5 people).
  • Maintain lab equipment, lab cleanliness, and organization.
  • Participate in lab inventories, ordering supplies with training.
  • Participate in careful equipment operation as part of a team - running development trials and/or production trials for clients.
  • Movement of materials and supplies between labs and warehouse/storage.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
