Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques
  • Experience in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment
  • Ability to perform complex chemical analysis and interpretation of results
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a laboratory setting
  • 24 hour on call during duty week
  • Maintain Class "C" driver's license with the ability to drive a company vehicle to job sites and field offices
  • Load and unload pelican cases and lab equipment weighing +/- 70 lbs
  • Work in all type of weather conditions
  • Ability to work in a toxic atmospheric environment (Hydrogen Sulfide Gas) while wearing a self-contained full-face sealed respiratory equipment weighing +/- 30 lbs
  • Ability to climb oil storage tank stairways while wearing a self-contained full-face sealed respiratory equipment weighing +/- 30 lbs.
  • Ability to assist a fellow co-worker in the event of an emergency by dragging them out of harm's way
  • Conduct lab analysis at benchtop during an 8+ hour day
  • Knowledgeable of ASTN and GPA methods and calculations
  • Ability to communicate lab procedures and sampling methods to fellow co-workers and to customers
  • Conduct quality checks on lab data
  • Ability to process reports sitting at a desk for 8+ hours
  • Attend applicable training courses
