Job Title: Java Developer – Trade Finance

Location: New York (Tri-State Area) – 100% Onsite (5 Days/Week)

Duration: Long-Term Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with strong expertise in the Trade Finance domain to design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise-grade applications for global banking and trade processing. The ideal candidate will possess strong Java development skills along with in-depth knowledge of Trade Finance products, ICC regulations, banking compliance, and digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and support enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, Kafka, SQL, and Cloud technologies.
  • Build and maintain solutions for Trade Finance products.
  • Develop workflows and business processes aligned with ICC regulations, including- UCP 600, URDG 758, ISP98, ISBP.
  • Integrate Trade Finance platforms with SWIFT, core banking systems, compliance platforms, and external partner applications.
  • Ensure adherence to AML (Anti-Money Laundering), Sanctions Screening, and Trade-Based Money Laundering (TBML) compliance requirements.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, development, testing, and production support.
  • Contribute to digital transformation initiatives involving workflow automation, platform modernization, and AI-driven solutions.
Required Skills
  • Knowledge of banking compliance, including:
    • AML
    • Sanctions Screening
    • TBML
  • Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and requirements gathering skills.
Required Experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience developing or supporting Trade Finance applications.
  • Experience collaborating with business, operations, compliance, and product teams within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Exposure to digital Trade Finance transformation, workflow automation, and banking platform modernization initiatives is highly preferred.
