Chenega Enterprise Systems & Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services' company, is seeking an experienced Web Developer III to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),ย Office of Laboratory Systems and Responseย (OLSR), Office of the Director (OD).ย  This person will provide successful development and maintenance of the Office the Director websites/web portals.ย

Responsibilities
  • Provide web development expertise for provide critical redundancy to the OD office.
  • Ensure the operability of DLS electronic communication and data platforms including Internet and intranet pages.
  • Develop internet sites/pages as needed and prioritize changes as described by the Associate Director for Communication (ADC) using CDC's customized Web Content Management System (WCMS).
  • Assist in website architecture and content management for all internet sites.
  • Support all phases of web development from evaluation, analysis, and design to development and subsequent ongoing maintenance and support.
  • Provide programming support using standard approaches for websites and web-hosted blogs.
  • Ensure websites, web pages, and web content accessible and comply with CDC and Section 508 guidelines.
  • Work with a variety of multimedia such as flash animation and other types of media players.
  • Create and update web pages in CDC's customized WordPress WCMS using CDC templates based on mock-ups, using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, XHTML, and JQuery.
  • Attend trainings, review user documentation, review and act on support tickets.
  • Create functional HTML prototypes based on design mock-ups; translate mock-ups into clean code, adhering to coding, template standards, and style guidelines set forth by CDC.
  • Use HTML, XHTML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery programming languages as needed to correct site issues.
  • Ensure new web pages meet standards for device and browser compatibility.
  • Use technical skills to migrate existing web content from old to new templates, implement template upgrades, and retire outdated content, managing the division's inventory of URLs; implement upon approval.

  • Advise customers on how to make content that is easy to find, easy to use, and easy for the developer to maintain.
  • Help content owners deliver web-based content that uses clear communication strategies available in the WCMS.
  • Advise on and develop data-driven tools that use MS Excel or other tools to power DLS information systems and services.
