As an intern, you'll work alongside our experienced practitioners and with our clients and communities. This hands-on experience will equip you with practical skills, build your network, and provide opportunities that set you up for success.
Your Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Computer Science student to gain hands-on experience in a global IT team and apply your technical skills to solve real-world business challenges. As an intern, you will work closely with senior members of our IT team to analyze, design, and implement technology-driven solutions that deliver measurable value.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in analyzing needs and identifying technology solutions to address business challenges.
  • Support the design, testing, and implementation of software, systems, and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect and document project requirements.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends to support requests and recommendations.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide insights to improve existing systems or processes.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to team goals and objectives.

Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) and familiarity with frameworks or tools is required.

Education and Experience
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and having completed your second or third year of study.

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
