Senior API Engineer - Advisor I

About your role:

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our engineering team at Fiserv. You'll collaborate with product managers, clients at leading financial institutions, and crossfunctional engineering teams to design and deliver resilient, highvolume solutions that leverage modern APIs, microservices, thirdparty integrations and cloud infrastructure. Your work will help shape solution architecture and drive reliable, performant production systems.

What you'll do

  • Define and implement solution architecture for highvolume, resilient systems.
  • Design, develop, debug and test objectoriented Java/J2EE code, Spring and RESTful APIs (JSON over HTTPS).
  • Effective usage of AI for Software Engineering - Design/Coding/Code review/Debugging
  • Hands-on working experience in Azure, and Containerization
  • Build cloudnative services following 12Factor principles and work with messaging platforms and integrations (Kafka, MQ, ESB).
  • Collaborate in Agile/Scrum delivery model with product managers, clients and engineering teams.
  • Contribute to CI/CD and DevSecOps practices to enable repeatable, secure deployments.
  • Perform database integrations, JPA, performance tuning and optimization across relational and nonrelational stores.
  • Apply design patterns and algorithmic approaches to improve reliability, maintainability, readability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and operate within complex IT environments, including networking, security and performance considerations.
  • Cloud migration and platforms experience (Azure, PCF, OpenShift, AWS).
  • Experience with Splunk and file transfer technologies (NDM / Connect: Direct / IBM FileGateway).

Experience you'll need to have

  • 8+ years recent experience as a member of engineering teams delivering resilient, highvolume solutions built in Java/J2EE.
  • 5+ years working on highvolume transactional systems, including performance tuning.
  • 5+ years handson experience building RESTful APIs (JSON over HTTPS) with recent handson experience with Java and Spring Frameworks (Spring Boot).
  • 4+ years handson experience designing, writing, debugging and testing objectoriented code.
  • Experience developing 12Factor cloudnative services messaging architectures (Kafka, MQ, ESB).
  • Experience with both relational and nonrelational database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Advanced understanding of design patterns, software algorithms and coding techniques that improve testability and maintainability.
  • High proficiency with modern CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.

How you'll work

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers inperson collaboration to be an essential part of this role as inperson office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.

Travel

  • Approximately 10% of travel offsite or to other office locations is expected.

Salary Range

$90,000.00 - $158,400.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
