Job description

Enrolled Agent - This is a 100% fully remote opportunity. May be based anywhere in the United States, office hours 9am-5pm PST.
We're a fast-growing tax law firm based in San Francisco, looking for an experienced Enrolled Agent to join our tax resolution team. This is a 100% remote role, open to candidates anywhere in the U.S., working core hours of 9am-5pm PST. You'll work directly alongside our tax attorneys and legal support staff on a high-volume caseload - negotiating with the IRS and state agencies, resolving collections issues, and helping clients get real outcomes on complex tax matters.
Compensation: Varies- depending on experience
What You'll Do
  • Contact the IRS and state agencies directly to negotiate payment plans, first-time penalty abatements, non-collectible status, and other resolution options
  • Review client financial documentation to determine the best path to resolution
  • Negotiate installment agreements, partial-pay agreements, offers in compromise, and levy releases on bank accounts and wages
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys and legal support staff on assigned cases, helping manage caseload to meet service deadlines
  • Conduct client calls and meetings to gather documentation and keep cases moving
  • Identify opportunities to expand a client's scope of services and loop in the right internal team

What You Bring
  • Active Enrolled Agent (EA) license
  • Active, valid IRS Centralized Authorization File (CAF) number
  • 5+ years of experience negotiating directly with the IRS
  • Tax preparation experience a plus
  • Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, high-volume remote practice

Why This Firm
  • Fully remote, work-from-anywhere-in-the-US flexibility
  • Direct collaboration with tax attorneys - real exposure to complex resolution strategy, not siloed casework
  • High-volume caseload means steady, varied work rather than long dry spells
  • 401K with firm match
  • Health Insurance
