JOB DESCRIPTION

The Custodian (Temporary) will assist with various tasks performing maintenance duties. This includes, but is not limited to general cleaning practices, familiarity with safe handling practices of chemicals related to cleaning, and the restock of supplies. The Custodian (Temporary) will work onsite at assigned location(s).

COMPENSATION

$16.90 - $18.28 per hour. Nonexempt; 9 hours/week; Eligible for Overtime. Compensation based on education and experience.

REPORTS TO

Program Director; Administrative Assistant

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with cleaning, familiarity with safe handling practices of chemicals related to cleaning and restocking supplies.

Drivers license for at least two years and driving record acceptable to insurance carrier.

Valid California driver's license; auto in safe operating condition; auto liability insurance; good driving record; criminal record clearance; proof of authorization to work in the United States as required by Immigration and Reform Act of 1986. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gather trash and recycling in all offices, kitchen, bathrooms, conference rooms and empty shredders.
  • Restock supplies in bathrooms.
  • Thoroughly clean kitchen & bathrooms: includes sweeping and mopping of floors. As directed, deep clean common areas such as kitchen.
  • Wipe, dust, and sanitize surfaces.
  • Vacuum all offices and hallways
  • Check Inventory and restock supply closet.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to: operate a motor vehicle; climb stairs; possess good communication skills; meet the requirements of the classification and have mobility, vision, hearing and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties to be performed. Capable of the following extended activities: standing, sitting, climbing stairs. Capable of the following intermittent activities: lifting 25 pounds or more and bending in the performance of infrequently performed office duties.
