Job Description

The Sales Assistant supports the dining operation serving students, staff and guests of The Ohio State University; greets and serves
customers; operates coffee equipment, makes gourmet coffee and specialty drinks; prepares and handles food and beverage orders; collects payment by cash, credit or Buck ID, prepares sales reports; takes daily inventory; stocks shelves, freezers, and coolers; maintains a clean and sanitary service and work area; position makes decisions based on established policies and procedures under the direction of the supervisor. This is a temporary staff position that is not to exceed 12 months.

Qualifications

Required: High school diploma or GED; ability to communicate effectively; successful completion of a background check.

Desired: 0-2 years of front-line customer service experience; 1 year of experience taking and filling food orders; 1 year of experience brewing premium coffees and making espresso-based drinks; 1 year of cash handling experience; 1 year of experience in taking inventories; 1 year of
experience in placing orders or requisitioning supplies.
