Warehouse Position
General Pacific, an Electric Utility Distributor, located in Fairview, Oregon, is looking to add a warehouse person to their team.
Position Summary
The position supports our sales staff by shipping and receiving materials promptly. Also, communicating with support staff and solving inventory issues as they arise.
Position Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain the warehouse, so it is clean, organized, and safe for all employees.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or convey orders to the packing station or shipping department.
  • Load and offload delivery trucks without damage to materials received or equipment.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Reads customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Organize by sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product part number.
  • Marks the materials received to stock with identifying bar-coding information.
  • Weighed or counted items shipping to the customers and received the proper quantities to stock.
  • Maintained inventory records.
  • Operates bar code readers for shipping and receiving of materials.
  • Rotates stock material to keep the oldest material shipping first.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
  • Has the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers, customers, vendors, and the general public.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, multitask, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Has the ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Capable of operating a PC and various software packages including, but not limited to, word processing, excel, e-mail, and internet applications.
  • Capable of operating office equipment such as a printer, scanner, photocopier, and fax machine.
  • Certifications and or training on forklifts and any other warehouse equipment are preferred.

  • Frequent standing occurs at the customer and vendor sites or when working in and around the warehouse. Drivers also stand when observing loads and evaluating safety.
  • Walking will frequently occur on level surfaces at the employer's site. Drivers will also walk around their trucks when tying downloads and when they arrive at a customer's site.
  • Bending will occasionally occur when pulling orders to load vehicles.
  • Squatting might occur intermittently.
  • Climbing frequently occurs when securing loads on vehicles and getting in and out of the car during delivery.
  • Pushing and pulling can frequently occur while gathering order materials and loading vehicles.
  • Reaching can frequently occur when operating a vehicle, as well as when pulling orders.
  • Overhead reaching can happen when climbing in and out of the vehicle and wrapping chains and loading straps to tie down the load.
  • There is frequent handling of paperwork, load straps, chains, levers, and gears on warehouse equipment and delivery vehicles.
