In your role as a senior structural engineer at Mi-Tech, you’ll design a wide variety of temporary and permanent structures associated with the construction of utility, infrastructure and heavy civil projects. Primary responsibilities include developing calculation submittals, coordinating the development of design and shop drawings, and supporting project pursuits and bids through preliminary evaluations and analyses. Additional tasks include mentoring and supporting other engineers, communicating and coordinating with design and field teams, and providing support to the Principal Engineer with any other assigned duties.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and submit calculation documents for temporary and permanent structures.
  • Coordinate design and shop drawings with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support project pursuits and bids through preliminary evaluations and technical analyses.
  • Mentor junior engineers and assist in technical reviews.
  • Communicate and coordinate with design and field personnel to ensure project success.
  • Assist the Principal Engineer with additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 4 to 8 years of experience in designing temporary works, heavy civil, or infrastructure projects.
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structures preferred.
  • Active Professional Engineer license in any state.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Mathcad, AutoCAD, and Finite Element Analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of geotechnical engineering and related structures (foundations, retaining walls, and earth retention systems) is a plus.
  • Previous construction field experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record as determined by Michels Review Team.
