Job description

About the Job
 

The position involves assisting with the integration and testing of the IMPAX CubeSat. Specifically, the employee will perform acceptance tests of components as they arrive, and work with the instrument teams and UMN engineers to test the components and integrate them into the spacecraft. They will be required to perform electrical and mechanical tests, as well as detailed record keeping and light coding.

Job Duties

100% Testing of Engineering Models of Scientific Instruments, and Integration of the Instruments into the Spacecraft, for the IMPAX CubeSat mission.

Qualifications
 

Required qualifications

  • Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Astronomy, or a related field.
  • Applicant must have interest and aptitude in space physics, engineering and computer programming.

Preferred qualifications 

Applicant should have experience and skills in space physics, engineering and computer programming.
 

Pay and Benefits
 

Pay Range: $15.25 - $16.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
