Job description

Title: Information Technology Generalist I

Clearance Type: None

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Provide hands on support for Navy information systems, networks, and communication equipment, ensuring reliable and secure operations.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and repair of hardware, software, workstations, and peripheral devices.
  • Diagnose and resolve basic technical issues related to operating systems, applications, and network connectivity.
  • Support the configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of network devices including switches, routers, and communication equipment.
  • Participate in routine server maintenance tasks, system updates, and patching activities as directed by senior IT personnel.
  • Deliver user support and basic training to help personnel effectively use systems and tools.
  • Monitor system and network performance, reporting anomalies or potential issues to senior staff.
  • Document system configurations, maintenance activities, troubleshooting steps, and issue resolution in accordance with contract and Navy standards.
  • Follow established security protocols to protect data integrity, ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements, and support incident reporting practices.
  • Assist with inventory, asset management, and lifecycle maintenance of IT equipment.
  • At least 0-4 years of experience in a related field.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of additional relevant experience may satisfy degree requirements.
  • A strong understanding of computer hardware and software, basic networking knowledge, excellent troubleshooting skills, customer service skills, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Security+ certification. Â
