Part Time Support

  FLSA: Non-Exempt   Temporary/Continuing:  Temporary   Part-Time/Full-Time: Part-Time   Union Group: N/A   Term of Position: 12 Month   At Will/Just Cause: At Will   Summary of Position: Manages the prepping and storing of incoming store merchandise. Replenish the sales floor with products, maintain a clean, orderly sales floor, and create merchandise displays as needed. Assists with customer questions and concerns about products on the sales floor and is proactive in theft situations. Help oversee inventory counts and maintain records. Assist the eCommerce Associate as needed. Fulfill other duties as needed. Must be available to work nights and weekends as needed. This is a part-time position that offers a maximum of 28 hours per week.
The selected candidate for this position must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire without employer assistance or sponsorship now or in the future.   Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered:     Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Manages the prepping and storing of incoming store merchandise. Manages receiving and processing merchandise for use in web orders and for sale in stores. train and supervise student employee store associates in proper receiving procedures and follow-up to ensure compliance and coach when necessary to improve performance.
Participate in vendor visits for new and upcoming merchandise. Work with managers to choose new merchandise and work to develop quantities for selling period. Provide feedback on customer needs to improve assortments of store merchandise.
Train, supervise, and coach student employee associates on maintaining selling floor standards, sales floor merchandise replenishment, store maintenance functions, handling expired snacks and beverages, and floor moves to improve sales and merchandise visibility.
Train, supervise, and coach student employee associates with expectations for customer questions and concerns about product on the sales floor as well as be proactive in theft situations. Ensure proper POS procedures are followed and maintained.
Contact vendors to handle issues with purchase orders, returns of defective or damaged merchandise and ensure credits are processed accurately. Assists with managing vendor relationships and manage merchandise received and processing of web orders.
Help maintain accurate counts and locations for all merchandise on floor and in back stock. Train and supervise student employee associates on stockroom standards and proper handling of defective, damaged, or out of date merchandise.
Assist with pulling shipments to wholesale vendors and with shipping product returns to vendors. Assists with overstock management and departmental requests.
Train and supervise student employee associates with picking, fulfilling, processing, and shipping online orders and assist customers via phone with basic web order questions. Processes 30 to 50 web orders on a daily basis.
Manage and maintain Ecommerce website. Responsible for creating catalogs, maintaining item accuracy on website, proper item placement to ease customer shopping experience, and weekly review of website operations.
Manages and updates point-of-sale terminal for cash and charge sales and return transactions. Train student employee associates on POS functions and aid with all inquiries. Updates and reviews tenders accepted.
Assist with supervising of student employee associates and daily assignments to ensure efficient store operations. Ensure excellent customer service through training and coaching of student employee associates with all customer engagements.
Monitor sales and inventory seeking new merchandise opportunities, reorder merchandise when necessary to support store sales, and communicate any challenges to management for resolution.
Independently answer questions from internal and external sources timely. Communicate issues to management help to develop strategies to address. Assists in managing the Ferris Outfitters Inbox and responds as appropriate.
Oversight of the store and operations in absence of management.
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with university policies and applicable laws.
Cultivates an environment of belonging that values, respects, supports, and celebrates individual similarities and differences, allowing students, faculty, and staff to thrive authentically.
Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.
