Plant Operators perform the tasks necessary for the day-to-day operations and production of products. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOpens and closes valves for product transfersPerforms general preventative maintenance of pump and valve systems Operates equipmentInspects tanks periodicallyTroubleshoots mechanics of plant systemsWeighs trucks, pre- and post-loadingLoads emulsion trucksGeneral LaborFollows all safety policies and practicesAll other duties as assignedSkills and EducationRequiredHigh School diploma or GED equivalent Solid math and reading skills, and the ability to understand technical manualsTwo (2) years production/maintenance experience OR oil and gas industry experience OR completion of mechanical/industrial trade school programAptitude for learning new tasks and skills  PreferredAsphalt materiel handling Proficient computer skillsJob RequirementsAbility to work in a team environment with laboratory and sales personnel, as well as the ability to work independently without close supervisionMust be able to work overtime as neededWillingness to be flexible in schedulingAbility to safely lift at least 50 pounds and tolerate scents common to fuels and asphalt operationAbility to perform work which requires frequent and regular movement of wrists, hands, and/or fingersAbility to perform work which requires frequent and regular walking and standingAbility to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterityWork EnvironmentThis position requires its responsibilities to be performed in an asphalt emulsions manufacturing plant. Plants are outdoors and may require that work be done in adverse weather conditions. Work conditions may involve exposure to hot materials, chemicals, fumes, dust, odors, gases, and other substances used in a construction environment.
