Job description

Description:

The Marbury Law Group, PLLC is seeking a temporary, part-time Operations Intern. The anticipated duration for this internship will be from late September through December 2026 with the potential to extend. This position is part-time, 20 hours per week. The schedule for these hours is flexible.

This internship offers a practical look at how a professional services firm runs behind the scenes. Working with the Operations team, the intern will gain experience with practice management software, firm recordkeeping, and the day-to-day operations of a law office. This role reports to the Director of Finance & Operations and may occasionally assist attorneys and paralegals with administrative tasks on patent and/or trademark matters.

We are looking for an intern who is reliable, organized, and willing to dig into whatever the team needs. Many of the current projects are operational: data entry, records cleanup, and administrative projects. We’re looking for someone eager to take ownership of a task and who enjoys reorganizing and tidying up records, files, and processes.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Operations team, including finance, IT, and HR, on a variety of active projects. Deadlines and expectations will be clearly laid out, but each project may involve different stakeholders within the team.
  • Perform data entry, cleanup, and verification across firm records.
  • Assist with reporting and recordkeeping.
  • Provide general administrative support to the team and, on occasion, to attorneys and paralegals on patent matters.
  • Take on other projects as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor's degree program (preferably in accounting, human resources, or business administration)
  • Some prior office, administrative, or internship experience
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; comfortable learning new software quickly
  • Careful attention to detail and accuracy, especially with data entry
  • A team player with can-do attitude, professionalism, and willingness to take on whatever needs doing
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Why Join Us?

  • Flexibility: This role is 20 hours per week and we are able to be flexible with your schedule. We ask that work is performed within standard business hours so that colleagues may be able to assist with questions as needed. Work from home may be approved depending on the schedule.
  • Great culture: We foster a culture of growth and collaboration. Be part of a supportive and professional team that values collaboration and your contribution from day one.

Who We Are

The Marbury Law Group is a mid-size law firm and manages large, medium, and small patent portfolios.  We help start-up and emerging technology companies leverage their intellectual assets to achieve their business goals. We are committed to providing high-quality services to meet the evolving needs of our clients.

If you are ready for an engaging fall internship, we encourage you to apply!
