What you will be doing
  • Work from schedules, production orders, prints and specifications. Verify alloy and length of billet and set heater controls to proper specifications
  • Operation of the press with require multifunction operation of multiple control panels in sequence to ensure proper operation.
  • Make adjustments to press and peripheral equipment to set-up product layout guides and tooling and set and adjust parameters to ensure the material meets customers specs.
  • Perform or assist with any departmental operations, as required or directed to maintain work flow or respond to emergency conditions. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition. Ensure safe operating conditions within area of responsibility.
  • Assist in the process examination and quality documentation and determine causes for problems, root cause analysis and recommend solutions follow up to help establish product & customer issues.
  • Assist in Press Equipment validations, safety and quality audits.
  • Able to work in a non air-conditioned shop environment. Hot in the Summer, cold in the Winter.
  • Able to work in a team environment reacting to production conditions and routinely changing job functions.
  • Can work overtime including weekends. Scheduled day off could fluctuate.
  • Able to keep up with normal production requirements while using proper body mechanics and working in a safe manner.

  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.

What will make you successful?
Perform functions to provide manufacturing production with sufficient operation of the extrusion press. Able to work in a team environment changing job function thru out a shift. Work in an open-air facility hot/cold. Perform duties to set up, adjust, and operate an aluminum extrusion press, quality lab, drive a lift-truck and its peripherals to extrude aluminum in specified products, determining appropriate settings and operational sequences, within the limitations of standard methods and procedures. Troubleshoot press operation in areas relating to manufacturing problem resolution and process improvement, working within the limits of established policies.
