Community Center Café and Rink Team

  • Part Time (Part-time/Temporary/Seasonal Status), Non-Exempt
  • Starts at $13.00 per hour
  • Reports to Recreation Supervisor-Ice Arena & Concessions
  • Located at Eden Prairie Community Center (16700 Valley View Road, Eden Prairie, MN) and Staring Lake Park (summer only).
  • Hours will vary based on needs: weekdays, evenings and weekend availability required. Minimum 1-2 shifts per week.

Responsibilities

The Community Center Café and Rink Team is responsible for providing customer support and assistance to individuals at the Community Center through a variety of roles. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are:

  • Operates concessions at the EPCC and Mobile Cafe by adhering to standards, policies, procedures, health codes and regulations; maintains a safe, friendly environment for patrons at the concession area.
  • Supports concessions operations during high traffic events like year-round hockey games and tournaments, and mobile café operations at Staring Lake Park during summer theatre and special events.
  • Works as rink attendant for open skate programs by ensuring patrons have paid daily fee and are adhering to ice rink policies. Assisting with passing out rental skates and ensuring proper fit.
  • Provides high quality customer service by consistently exhibiting an enthusiastic and eager focus to members, responding to questions with accurate information or referring them to an appropriate contact.

While these areas are the primary focus of this position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years related experience preferred.
  • Ability to skate proficiently required.
  • This position requires the ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 50 lbs, bend/stand/reach.
  • Candidates must successfully complete and pass the City’s evaluation of the pre-employment process prior to their first day of employment. Pre-employment processes for this position include professional reference checks, background check, work verification and education verification if applicable.
