Renewal of appointment dependent upon performance, program needs, and availability of funds.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop beam dynamics simulation for the UH linac and FEL.
  • Conduct research on beam Physics and FEL Physics.
  • Operate the UH linac and FEL facility under supervision, and verify theoretical calculation and simulations with experimental measurements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree with a focus in Physic, Astronomy or equivalent subject field
  • Must be a current graduate student in the College of Natural Sciences, UHM
  • Must have programming skills.
  • Ability to comply with lab safety protocols and work with others.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Background in accelerator physics.
  • Has prior programming experience in python/matlab/labview
  • Must have experience with SolidWorks.
  • Must have experience with vacuum work.
