Job description

Overview
NaphCare has an excellent opportunity for a WordPress Web Designer to join our join our Corporate Office in Birmingham, AL. This is an on-site position.
The Web Designer builds and maintains websites using the WordPress platform, translating designs into responsive and functional sites.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include and may not be limited to:
  • Build custom templates and front-end experiences using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Twig templating language
  • Develop and customize back-end development
  • Installing and configuring plugins, performing updates, and ensuring site security and performance
  • Manage code repository
  • Manage WordPress updates
  • Website plugin management
  • Manage production site
  • Manage live site
  • Maintain/update the website's Accessibility features
  • Update current pages as needed
  • Ability to build now modules and update existing modules
  • Create new pages
  • Create new landing pages
  • Provide guidance on website design best practices including
    • UX
    • Maintain an acceptable site speed
    • Mobile responsiveness
    • Technical SEO
  • Maintain site security
  • Manage hosting and domains
  • Integrate and customizing Google APIs, social media channels, etc.

Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Must have strong skills in web design, from page concept (wireframes) through development and testing.
  • Experience with measuring page/site performance in order to implement UX and SEO improvements.
  • Experience in the WordPress platform including installation, configuration, and upgrades is a must.
  • Basic knowledge of databases is required.
  • Understanding of content modeling and how it translates to CMS implementations is valuable.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with employees and other departments.
  • Excellent skills in the areas of organization, time management and an ability to manage multiple tasks are necessary.
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all corporate policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Interested candidates should be prepared to provide 3-5 webpage examples they developed in WordPress.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening

  • Dependability-the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
  • Safety and security-the individual actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly.

  • Office-based
  • Ability to manage workload and deadlines
  • Long periods of sitting at a desk performing light physical work, including working at a computer terminal
  • Light physical work involving lifting and carrying

  • Ability to work overtime as needed to complete general responsibilities to meet the needs of the unit or corporation
