Job description

  • Lead and develop a team of Sr. GTS Finance Specialists and provide functional, dotted-line leadership to Target India team members supporting First Sale
  • Establish team priorities, goals, performance expectations and operating routines
  • Create connectivity, consistency, and accountability across First Sale US and India teams
  • Partner with India leaders to support team effectiveness, development, and performance
  • Translate First Sale strategy and program priorities into executable plans and sustainable operating practices
  • Assess program performance, identify opportunities to strengthen execution or expand savings, and ensure changes are effectively implemented across U.S. and India teams
  • Ensure program requirements, controls, and processes are consistently executed in support of compliance objectives
  • Oversee program routines, vendor participation, reconciliation activities, savings and financial reporting, and issue resolution and remediation
  • Lead day-to-day execution of Target’s import-related financial operations, including timely, accurate and compliant payment of imported merchandise, customs duties, fees and other third-party obligations
  • Monitor operational performance and controls, identify emerging risks or recurring issues, and drive effective resolutions
  • Manage operational performance of international trade banking relationships in partnership with Treasury
  • Monitor service levels and key performance indicators, drive accountability with external partners, resolve operational issues, and identify improvement opportunities
  • Serve as primary business owner for Global Trade Finance and First Sale data, reporting, analytics and insights needs
  • Partner with the centralized Analytics & Insights Team to define business questions, priorities, reporting requirements, measures and expected outcomes
  • Drive continuous improvement and modernization through automation, stronger controls, improved data and reporting, simplified processes, and elimination of unnecessary expense and waste
  • Partner with business, technology and Analytics & Insights teams to implement sustainable solutions and lead teams through change
  • Stay current on global banking, trade, sourcing and regulatory changes and implement appropriate responses
Requirements
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in global trade, international finance, treasury operations, supply chain, customs compliance or a related field
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop team members to achieve strong results
  • Strong operational leadership skills, with the ability to translate strategy and priorities into clear plans, expectations, routines, measures and execution
  • Experience managing complex financial, supply chain, trade or compliance-related operations with a strong focus on accuracy, controls and risk management
  • Ability to identify operational efficiencies and opportunities, challenge the status quo and lead sustainable change across teams and partners
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to use data to assess performance, identify root causes, surface risks and opportunities, and influence decisions
  • Experience managing external partners or service providers, including establishing performance expectations, driving accountability and resolving complex issues
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to understand systems, data flows and process dependencies to support problem solving and modernization
  • Ability to think independently, navigate ambiguity, prioritize competing needs and drive effective resolution
  • Ability to develop strong, collaborative relationships and influence across functions and levels of the organization
  • Experience in global trade, import finance, customs compliance or international supply chain operations
  • Experience supporting First Sale, duty optimization or other import savings programs
  • Previous experience leading or working with global teams
  • Previous experience in retail or another matrixed corporate environment
  • U.S. Customs Broker License
