Job Title

Release Manager

About Your Role

Join Clover as a Release Manager and play a key role in delivering seamless software releases that power the commerce experiences of hundreds of thousands of merchants. As part of our Release Engineering team, you'll help orchestrate complex, full-stack releases across custom hardware, cloud-based POS software, and a thriving App Market.

At Clover, we are evolving our release lifecycle with Artificial Intelligence. We are looking for a forward-thinking Release Manager who leverages AI tooling and workflow automation to eliminate manual toil, predict release risks, and accelerate our delivery velocity.

What You Will Do

  • AI-Driven Orchestration: Utilize AI assistants (such as Google Gemini and GitHub Copilot) to automate release documentation, summarize change logs, and streamline communication across global teams.
  • Workflow Automation: Identify, design, and implement AI-powered workflow automations to streamline the intake process, triage release blockers, and optimize repeatable deployment tasks.
  • Manage End-to-End Workflows: Coordinate closely with technical leads, product owners, and QA to ensure seamless software delivery across our distributed ecosystem.
  • Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement in release planning and delivery-you are always looking for smarter, faster (AI-augmented), and more reliable ways to get code into production.
  • Risk Mitigation: Flag risks early using data-driven insights; manage scope changes and solve release-related issues before they impact the merchant experience.
  • Release Readiness & Governance: Run milestone reviews and represent the team in weekly CAB (Change Advisory Board) meetings, ensuring every deployment is backed by thorough planning and stakeholder alignment.
  • Configuration Management: Provide guidance to development and QA teams on best practices for source control and configuration management within a CI/CD framework.

What You Will Need to Have

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's STEM major, or equivalent experience.
  • Core Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Release Manager working with technical teams developing software solutions.
  • AI Tooling Proficiency: Proven experience using Generative AI tools (Gemini, ChatGPT, or GitHub Copilot) to augment productivity, automate documentation, or assist in technical troubleshooting.
  • Automation Mindset: Demonstrated experience with AI Workflow Automation (e.g., using AI to automate status reporting, Slack/Jira integrations, or release notes generation).
  • DevOps Ecosystem: Experience with tools such as Git, Jenkins, Gerrit, or Puppet to support build, integration, and deployment pipelines.
  • SDLC Depth: Deep knowledge of the software development lifecycle and experience applying Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Technical Literacy: Basic understanding of database design (SQL) and Web Services (REST/SOAP).

What Would Be Great to Have

  • Advanced AI Implementation: Experience building or utilizing custom AI agents to monitor release health or perform sentiment analysis on QA feedback.
  • Payments Expertise: Previous experience working with Point of Sale (POS) systems or in the payments industry.
  • CI/CD Maturity: Familiarity with high-availability or business-critical software systems and distributed multi-module applications.
  • DORA Metrics focus: A passion for improving deployment efficiency using data-driven performance metrics.

How you'll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.

Sponsorship:

  • You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.

Benefits at Fiserv:

  • Fuel Your Life program to support your physical, financial, social, and emotional well-being
  • Paid holidays and generous time away policies
  • No-cost mental health support through Employee Assistance Programs
  • Living Proof program to recognize your peers' extra effort with points redeemable for rewards
  • Eight Employee Resource Groups to foster a collaborative culture and expand your network
  • Unparalleled professional growth with training, development, and internal mobility opportunities
  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance options available from day one
  • Retirement planning and discounted shares with the Employee Stock Purchase Plan
  • Tuition assistance and reimbursement program
  • Paid parental, caregiver, and military leave
