Job Purpose

To perform the duties of purchasing and inventory control of material for the MRO areas within the plants. Includes procurement, inventory control, material preservation and supply of all parts required to operate the factory in all phases of the plant including production, facilities and capital expansion. Work schedules will vary due to changes in production demands, including weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with departmental review of over 13,000 stock keeping units weekly and procure materials as required using the DTR system at the lowest cost consistent with the quality and service required while maintaining inventory accuracy on a daily basis. Follow up on past due orders and expedite high-use parts as required.
  • Provide parts support to all maintenance departments by processing over 150 departmental purchase requisitions weekly to maintain high plant availability with minimum operating costs.
  • Maintain accurate purchase and inventory files to assure accuracy and accountability with regard to MRO parts inventory of $4.1M. React to and solve parts shortages/emergencies immediately.
  • Coordinate departmental resources to maintain continuity of supply through service and parts procurement and part repairs to support manufacturing schedules and meet corporate objectives.
  • Maintain tools and manage the radio inventory to ensure employees have necessary equipment to perform their jobs.
  • Maintain consistent communication within the department with regard to assigned responsibilities.
  • Interpret, evaluate and justify the parts requirements daily and adjust accordingly. Includes daily cycle counting, reviewing questionable packing lists and invoices as submitted
  • Coordinate with accounting, departments to resolve billing, part discrepancies and packing list issues.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to do basic math.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the local language.
  • Possess a valid forklift driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational Technical Education Certificate Facility Maintenance
  • Functional competence with: Machining, Centrifugal, Piston, and Diaphragm Pumps, Hydraulic and Pneumatic pumps and control systems, Heating Ventilation Cooling, All facets of construction, Pipefitting, Welding and assembly, Electrical Controls Diagnostic Ability, Mold and Die maintenance
General Job Requirements
  • Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
  • Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
  • This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds/11.5 kilos on occasions.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
