Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Acute Dialysis night shift position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 1 recent year of dialysis experience and an active AL or compact RN license.
Job Details
• Hospital-based dialysis unit spanning two campuses: the Regional campus (8 dialysis bays) and the Northport campus (4 dialysis bays),
• Performs hemodialysis, bedside dialysis, and peritoneal dialysis treatments,
• Regional campus hours are Monday-Saturday, 6:30 AM-7:00 PM, with on-call coverage Sundays and after hours; Northport campus operates Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with on-call coverage Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and after hours,
• Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM,
• Patient ratios: 1:2 (RN:patient) or 1:3 (RN + CCHT:patient),
• Fresenius machines used primarily; Gambro used as needed,
• EMR: Meditech (experience preferred but not required),
• Every other weekend required,
• Holiday coverage required,
• Floating to other units and hospital campuses required,
• 13-week contract,
Job Requirements
• Active AL state or compact RN license required - no temporary or pending licenses accepted,
• No hits (past or current) on nursing license,
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross),
• Associate degree in nursing or higher,
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 recent year of dialysis-specific experience,
• Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English,
• Active license, current driver's license, NURSYS verification, skills checklist, and 2 references from within the last year required for consideration,
Additional Information
• Nurses and Certified Dialysis Techs collaborate to prepare and perform dialysis treatments for patients within the organization,
• Facility will provide training for nurses not familiar with Fresenius or Gambro equipment,
• Professional nursing certification is preferred,
• No HealthStream modules required prior to start - competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation,
• Local candidates are welcome to apply; no radius restrictions apply,
• Solid navy scrubs required,
• Timekeeping system: Centricity
