Forklift Operator (Stand-Up, Narrow Aisle Sit-Down & Order Picker)

1st shift.

Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating multiple types of powered industrial trucks including stand-up forklifts, narrow aisle sit-down forklifts, and order pickers to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise within a warehouse or distribution center. The operator ensures efficient product handling while maintaining safety and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate stand-up forklifts, narrow aisle sit-down forklifts, and order picker equipment to transport materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Pick and stage customer orders using an order picker at various rack heights.
  • Load and unload trucks, pallets, and containers safely and efficiently.
  • Move products to storage locations while maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Perform cycle counts and inventory checks when required.
  • Follow warehouse management system (WMS) instructions using RF scanners or pick sheets.
  • Inspect forklifts daily and complete pre-shift safety checks.
  • Maintain clean aisles and organized storage locations.
  • Follow OSHA safety regulations and company policies for powered industrial truck operation.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating stand-up forklift, narrow aisle sit-down forklift, and order picker preferred.
