Job description

OVERVIEW: The Financial Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate and timely financial records for designated locations within the Acumatica ERP system. This position is integral to ensuring the integrity of financial data, supporting business operations through detailed financial insights, and collaborating closely with MarineMax Shared Services and cross-functional teams. The Financial Accountant is responsible for managing the general ledger, performing reconciliations, preparing journal entries, and contributing to the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. This role also supports budgeting, forecasting, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain the general ledger for multiple locations, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Reconcile bank account activity daily, verifying deposits, managing customer accounts and communicating with internal business partners.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to record transactions.
  • Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and assigned tasks.
  • Perform detailed analysis of location financial statements to ensure completeness, accuracy, and reliability of results.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and support audit requirements.
  • Perform research and investigation of financial transactions.
  • Support regulatory reporting efforts, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Contribute to the financial budgeting, forecasting, and projection processes.
  • Engage in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Take part in internal and operational training programs to support ongoing professional development and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
