Job description

The Roasting Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating assigned roasting machines, while leading a team of line operators.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Adhere to company human safety policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to company food safety, quality and regulatory practices and procedures; including GMPs.
  • Set-up and operation of assigned roasting machine(s) to ensure finished product meets all customer and regulatory requirements; this may include the use of hand tools when necessary.
  • Assist in training other employees on roasting machines.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment during changeovers from one product to another; inspect equipment prior to line start-up and changeovers.
  • Take ownership of roasting results by following work orders, troubleshooting and knowing when to escalate to appropriate persons.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records/documentation.
  • Direct and motivate staff for efficient and safe operation of all equipment on lines by leading line operators, which may include company employees and/or temporary staff.
  • Communicate with all coworkers including maintenance and quality staff to ensure optimal production goals are met.
  • Assist other departments as needed and perform related duties as assigned.
  • Must attend all company required training.
