PART-TIME
The Communications Specialist is responsible for researching, developing, and producing compelling stories that highlight the people, services, and impact of the McGoogan Health Sciences Library. Primary work products include social media content, blog posts and feature stories, newsletters, and the library's annual report, developed in alignment with UNMC brand and editorial standards. The position also supports website content updates and library events as secondary functions.
This role requires initiative and curiosity to actively identify story ideas, conduct interviews, and translate information into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences, with guidance and feedback provided through established editorial processes.
Skills are required in copywriting and copyediting, storytelling, communication planning, writing for the web, and creating short videos for social media.
